Healing Process
Sexual intercourse should be avoided for the first 6-8 weeks. A 4-6 cm swelling in the scrotum after the surgery is normal. Use antibiotics twice a day for healing, change the dressing every 48 hours, and apply ice for the first 14 days.
Hormones and Sexual Desire
Implantation does not affect the hormonal balance and sexual desire is preserved. Some patients may require psychological support during the adjustment period. In case of unexpected changes, hormonal evaluation is done and a personalised treatment plan is created.
Adjustment with Partner
A special training programme for the couple starts after six weeks. Techniques for implant use and optimal positioning are taught. Most couples become proficient in using the implant within 2-3 weeks.
Using the Implant
Inflatable implants are activated by 3-4 pumps of the scrotal pump. Flexible implants can be positioned between 0-180 degrees. Over a 10-year period, 15% of inflatable implants and 5% of flexible implants may require adjustment.
Sexual Life and Satisfaction
Implants provide 9-11 cm flaccid and 14-21 cm active length. 92% of patients report satisfactory sexual life, and 89% of partners are satisfied. 95% of users show regular use at least twice a week.
Regular Check-ups
Check-ups are done at 3, 6 and 12 months in the first year, and then every six months. Examination within 24 hours is required for fever above 38°C, severe pain, or change in function. Signs of infection require immediate intervention.
