Meme Lift Application

Meme Lift Application

Meme lift (mastopexy-ligament plication), is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure used to support sagging breasts. This procedure is particularly preferred for patients with mild to moderate breast ptosis. It restructures the stretched Cooper’s ligaments caused by pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant weight changes or the ageing process.

The surgical procedure is performed through a crescent-shaped incision made along the inframammary fold. The atrophic ligaments are repositioned using specialized suturing techniques, and the breast tissue is brought to an ideal position. The procedure, carried out under total intravenous anaesthesia, takes approximately 75 minutes. Preoperative mammography and ultrasound are required for patients over 40 years of age.

The recovery process is generally rapid and uncomplicated. Patients are discharged on the same day and are advised to use a specialized compression bra. Ice application is recommended for the first 48 hours, and most patients return to their daily activities within 3-4 days. Full physical activity can be resumed after 6 weeks.

The best results are obtained in patients aged 18-55 years, with normal weight and non-smokers. In five-year follow-ups, permanent results were observed in 94% of cases, and patient satisfaction has increased significantly. Most patients achieve a 2-3 cup size increase after the procedure, and the breast position attains a natural appearance.
