Stages of the Healing Process

Swelling and bruising are seen in the first 3 days. Stitches are removed in 7-10 days. Significant reduction in bruising begins in the second week. In the 4th week, the wounds heal, and tissue regeneration is completed in the 6th week. After an ultrasound check in the 8th week, return to daily activities begins. The healing process is completed in the 12th week.

Daily Care and Medication Use

Expansion device usage programme: 6 hours per day for the first 4 weeks, 8 hours for the next 4 weeks, and 4 hours for the last 4 weeks. Traction force: 400g in the first week, 600g in the second and third weeks, and 800g from the fourth week onwards. Compression bandage is mandatory for the first 8 weeks. Medications: paracetamol (3×1) for 5 days, diclofenac (2×1) for 7 days, and antibiotics. Wound care should be done 3 times a day with salt water and special ointment.

Expected Results and Healing Process

An immediate increase in thickness is achieved with fat injection, and lengthening is achieved with ligament surgery. Significant improvement in sexual function is seen in the 3rd month. Partial volume loss in the first year is normal. Free psychological support and couple counselling are provided for 6 months. Alcohol, smoking, and intense activities should be avoided for the first 3 months. Full sexual function is regained within 6 months.
