Aesthetic breast surgery is a modern surgical approach that improves women’s quality of life by enhancing breast size and shape. Ideal candidates are aged 18-65, have a healthy body mass index (18.5-29.9), are non-smokers, and have not had significant weight changes in the last 6 months.
The pre-operative evaluation includes basic laboratory tests, ECG, and chest X-ray. For patients over 40, additional mammography and ultrasonography are required. The surgeries typically last 2-4 hours and are performed under modern anaesthesia protocols.
For successful results, implant selection is based on the patient’s anatomical measurements:
- Chest wall width (11-14 cm) and tissue thickness (minimum 2 cm) are considered
- Implant size ranges from 200-800 cc
- Incision techniques: Inframammary (65%), periareolar (25%), or transaxillary (10%)
Breast reduction and lifting procedures are customised for each individual. Typically, 500-1,000 grams of tissue are removed for reduction, and the breast-areola complex is repositioned for lifting.
The recovery process:
- First 6 weeks: Specialised compression underwear
- 2 weeks: Return to work
- 6 weeks: Light exercises
- 8-12 weeks: Full physical activity
For patients planning pregnancy, a waiting period of at least 6-8 months after surgery is recommended.
